Carlos de Aldecoa Bueno, is President & Co-CEO of Maximus Coffee Group, which is the culmination of 3rd generations of the de Aldecoa family businesses focused exclusively on the coffee industry. With operations in located in Houston, Texas, Mr. de Aldecoa manages one of the largest, most diversified coffee processing operations in the world.

Prior to the formation of Maximus, Mr. de Aldecoa founded Houston-based Cadeco Industries. This firm acquired, retrofitted and modernized the old Uncle Ben's rice processing facility on Clinton Drive, converting it to the largest and most diversified independent bulk coffee processing facility in North America.

At the end of 2006, Mr. de Aldecoa formed Maximus Coffee Group and successfully completed the acquisition of Houston's historic Maxwell House coffee plant. This purchase saved over 350 jobs and ensures that Houston will remain an international coffee center many years into the future. The Maximus plant is North America's largest integrated coffee roasting, decaffeination, soluble and packaging facility.

Mr. de Aldecoa Bueno, a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Industrial Engineering, has also been active in growing the coffee industry in Harris County and worked with community leaders in forming the Greater Houston Coffee Association. His goal is to bring additional coffee warehouses, roasters, retailers, and the many associated service providers to Houston in the hopes of consolidating the area's clear importance as the major coffee industry center in the United States. He also serves as a Board Member for the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Greater Houston Partnership, the East End Management District and is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Mr. Martinez joined the Maximus team in 2013 transferring from the firm’s strategic partner, Ecom Agroindustrial. With over 22 years of experience in the coffee industry, including 15 years with Ecom, he brings a detailed knowledge of the coffee business to Maximus. Mr. Martinez has been involved with virtually every aspect of the global coffee industry from tree to cup. This broad supply chain experience includes having worked with farmers and co-ops in origin countries, working with sustainability programs, trade associations, green coffee procurement, logistics, import/export, trading and financial administration.

Mr. Martinez oversees the administrative, finance and supply chain areas of Maximus Coffee Group. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara.

Leo Vasquez serves as EVP of Houston, Texas-based Maximus Coffee Group. He has spent 25 years working in the areas of corporate finance, strategic planning, M&A, analysis and business operations nationwide. Mr. Vasquez began his affiliation with the de Aldecoa family’s coffee industry businesses in 1998. In 2006, Mr. Vasquez was an integral leader of the M&A team in the formation of Maximus Coffee Group and the acquisition of its facility from Kraft Foods, Inc.

Mr. Vasquez also maintains an active leadership role in the community and political arena, where he is a graduate of both Leadership Houston and the Center for Houston’s Future, was selected as a delegate of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, and has served in leadership positions on several professional, cultural, political and business organizations and boards.

Leo earned his B.A. in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He has also earned the Governance Fellow designation by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).

Ed Wakeham

Ed Wakeham directly manages the green coffee purchasing operations for Maximus Coffee Group. Having joined the Maximus team in 2008, Mr. Wakeham’s expertise and knowledge is recognized throughout the green coffee trading industry. He brings his 30+ years of experience, relationships and know-how to the Maximus team contributing to trading, risk management and global sales.

Prior to joining Maximus, Mr. Wakeham served in senior trading operations for major coffee trading houses, managing trading books in excess of $100 million dollars. His expertise involves green trading, as well as decaffeinated green and bulk soluble coffee. Over the course of his career, he has bought and sold coffee from virtually every worldwide origin imaginable.

In addition to managing the many direct trading house relationships for Maximus Coffee Group, Mr. Wakeham is also active in the Green Coffee Association, the National Coffee Association and the Specialty Coffee Association of America.

Richard Wohlfarth

Bringing 27 years of experience to the firm, Rick Wohlfarth is the senior leader for all operations areas of Maximus Coffee Group’s Houston facility. Mr. Wohlfarth has managed some of the world’s largest brewing and packaging operations, having served as the General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch/InBev Brewery in Houston, Texas.

Over his 26-year career at Anheuser-Busch, Mr. Wohlfarth held positions of increasing responsibility in the Pilot Brewery; Merrimack, NH; Williamsburg, VA; St. Louis, MO and Baldwinsville, NY breweries. As a member of the Corporate Brewing staff, he served as executive assistant to the Vice President, Director of Administration and Productivity, and Group Director of International Brewing Operations. For the last four years prior to joining Maximus, he was the General Manager of the Houston Brewery.

Andrew Nicolini

Mr. Nicolini has served for over 30 years in accounting, controllerships and general management in the fields of manufacturing, wholesale distribution and home building. In 2009 Mr. Nicolini joined Maximus Coffee in the position of Controller, where he was responsible for financial reporting, financials assets, cash flow, internal controls and relationships external auditors. He has transitioned into direct operations management, working with each Maximus business unit operations group in tracking key performance indicators and proactively providing feedback for the continuous improvement of operations.

Mr. Nicolini obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Istituto Tecnico Jacopo Barozzi in Modena, Italy. After five years in the accounting department of a durable goods manufacturer, he relocated to the United States in 1986.

He holds a Corporate Management Accountant (CMA) Certification, and he is a member in good standing of the Institute of Management Accountants.
